Default Clutch Jiggle

Why do clutches jiggle like crazy at high RPM? Just because of the engine's vibration?

Hehe Just had to know...

They aren't suppose to jiggle, something must be wrong with your car.

Or maybe I don't understand what you mean.

Well - when I put the clutch in to switch gears and the car is near redlinem, the clutch feels strange - like a fast heartbeet - flutter...

Not sure how else to explain it...

It happened in both my 924, and my 931...

And now my 951...

Any suggestions?

Next time you go for a spin, rev up to redline in 1st or 2nd, and see what your clutch feels like... you may have to lightly put your foot on it to see what I mean.

Mine did that sometimes.

The "fast heartbeat" is a perfect example of the feeling.

But mine only does it when the clutch pedal was on the floor.

It doesn't do it anymore after my Slave cyc. went and I replaced it. Maybe your Slave cyc. is going??

Hmm... sounds like it-
Ill see when it does it (midway, floor, etc.).
I hope it is not going!

The strange thing is that it did the same thing on my 924 and 931... (no slave cyl.)

Anyone else?

I can feel it most after traveling through the 1" play just before the clutch engages...

It is not really bad but it is there...
Anyone have that problem?

Mine will occasionally do this too. I was told it was the throw out bearing going bad. Typically, mine will do this 1-2 times and then stop. Not consistent.

I'm preparing for that major repair to come soon...ickkk...

The clutch was replaced just before I bought it...
Would they replace the throw out bearing as part of that job?
That could be the common link between the cars.
