24 Pin Wilks chip in 88 DME ?
I just received my Wilks race Chip for my 87 NA. I have an 88 DME with the 28 pin socket. I was shipped a 24 pin EPROM instead of the 28 pin EPROM I ordered. It took over 3 weeks to get this and their response has been sluggish. I have emailed and called and have not received a response and I am eager to try this out.

I am trying to do the opposite of what he is describing. The key is if the CPU in the 88 DME has been programmed with the executable code. Obviously the 87 model has been as it only uses the external eprom for data storage.
So the question is, does the 88 DME CPU (8051) have the executable programmed in it even though it is also programmed in the 28 pin EPROM? just dont want to screw around and disable my daily driver.
See Image I attached if I have confused anyone.
Thanks

While you were sending this, I was installing the chip, I only had to clip one jumper that can be easily restored and the chip worked great. the car runs so much smoother and it fixed a couple of other issues i was having. It made the car more fun to drive.

so, for anyone who runs accross this, you can use the 24 pin eprom in the 28 pin socket. The processor is indeed programmed so you dont have to run the program from external eprom. you just have to clip one jumper as outlined in the instructions.
