someone at porsche thought it would be funny to put fake option codes on the cars because nobody ever reads them right???

actually, that dealt more with 4WD cars. It still applies, I believe. However, for 944's (or sportscars in general) it helps with performance. For example, when you launch the car, both tires are turning instead of only one. Also, when coming out of a corner, you won't get wheelspin on the inside wheel because both spin at the same speed.
