Any interest in 944 NA Foha Front Lip / Splitter Replicas in FRP?
I was lucky enough to pick up a Foha front lip from TechnoDuck a few years back (Thanks again Jon!) and since they're difficult to find I was considering taking mine to a glasser and having them make a mould. I wanted to gauge interest and see if it would be worthwhile to do so.
I'm not sure what the cost would be and this is obviously not going to happen overnight. Joe Toth did a GREAT job on the splitter he's making for NA's and I'm not looking to compete with him just possibly create another option that seems to be popular in the world of NA owners.
Obviously the final cost of each piece would be dependent on the cost of the mould and how many actual members would plunk down money for same an actual produced piece. I expect that most replies here will be "interested, depending on price" since that's what I would reply!
I'm sure that FOHA's patent on the piece has long expired similar to Porsche's patent and design for the CGT rear spoiler. Otherwise you wouldn't see AIR and GT Racing making replicas.
Accordingly if anyone is aware of a glasser in the Maryland / Southern PA region that is either a member here, an enthusiast, or familiar with PCar work please let me know.
For reference here's a pic of mine on the front of my NA:

How about making this into a public poll, with options like
- I'd be in at < $250
- I'd be in at $250-299
- I'd be in at $300-350

Thank you for considering doing this. If it's just for "looks" on a stock height road ok, but won't FRP just break if used as a real splitter? I'd be in for a rubber one.

I recall this being a (rare) dealer option, so I don't know if there are any Porsche part numbers associated with it.
Do you plan to make replicas out of fiberglass? Or are you just doing the negatives in FG? Because I would imagine the original piece is rubber molded around metal for structure. (But I don't know).
Take care,

I don't mean to take away interest from the FG idea, but what about 3D printing the spoiler? It would probably be ~10 separate pieces that would need to be epoxied together, sanded, and finished.
If anyone has the dimension, I'm up for making a Solidworks model of it. If you hit something, no big deal, just get a new one printed.

Very. I was trying to get my hands on the 44 that went up in flames a few days ago to do the same. But if someone else is going to do it on a good piece to cast a mold on, ill be one of the first in line. Hopefully a different composite than fiberglass though

Any other thoughts on materials for construction? The original is "rubber" molded around a metal core however I'm not in a position to start up or solicit that complicated a project. Honestly given enough $ I could find a company to CNC mill them out of Titanium bar stock but I doubt they would be affordable enough to put on a 944 by the average enthusiast.
