Default Why wont it start????!?!?!

Yesterday after work, i pick up my car, pay the 500 bucks for the new engine mounts and shifter bushing, shes driving like never before, then i stop by a friends house-the car starts fine, next i go to mow my grandma's, when i try to leave-NOTHING. Heres what im getting: battery has juice, that isnt an issue. somtimes, if i have the car in gear, and try to start, this exact same thing happens, i get a hum coming from the car. i dont know how a starter or sillinoied could go bad so fast... I left it at my grandmas house over night, and will monkey with it after work. what is going on?
many thanks in advance!
Pat

That same thing happened to me and it was a bad solenoid. So try that or replacing your grounds. Finding a solenoid by itself isn't going to be easy, but Iceshark tracked one down for me.

Is your starter recently rebuilt?

In my case, it was a bad solenoid. I took apart the starter, there was some considerable friction in the piston assembly of the solenoid.

For me, it was more of a problem when the car was hot.

A new solenoid fixed the problem. At the time, I got it at Automotion (which has since merged with Performance Products, I think).
