I use a hammer as shown in the video and mentioned by others. I learned that from a front end mechanic that had years of experience.

I've owned a pickle fork or two, it ruins the seal and will not always work. I also have tried a puller with very little success, I have one now, it's junk. Pounding on the nut screwed on the threads will
damage the threads.

Make sure you back the nut out but leave it on so that you don't damage the threaded shaft.
