spinning noise when I press on the clutch pedal
I get a fan spinning noise when i have the clutch pedal pressed. Why is that? Is my fly wheel or bearing wearing? Car is a 90 S2 with 90k miles on original clutch. Clutch itself seems to be good.

Sometimes the T.O. bearing require shims on installation to make sure everything is properly installed. If that wasn't the case when the clutch job was one you might have issues. In any case, it does sound like the T.O. bearing or the clutch fork itelf being worn more or broken on one side than the other causing premature failure of the T.O. bearing.

Hard to tell without hearing it, but you probably have a "dry" throw out bearing. The grease in it get old, dries out and pulls away from the ***** in the bearing. What you are hearing is the dry ***** spinning around the metal housing. Prepare for a clutch job. In the mean time limit your use of the clutch. At traffic lights put it in neutral and release the pedal. If the pedal is out, the pressure is off the throw out bearing. If it starts to squeal stop driving it. You'll damage the fork.
Part costs are not bad at all for the job. It is time consuming. If you are a DIYer follow Clark's Garage instructions. I did not find it to be a crazy tough job. Just be patient.
And for God's sake put the aftermarket spring-center clutch in it. Don't put that rubber center thing back in. Replace the fork shaft and bearings too.
