The roller part of the ac compressor stopped, and it caused my drive belt to break. Do i have to replace the compressor with a new one to get it rolling? My air didn't work anyways, so i'm not worried about that. what would you do if this happened?

It has happened. I replaced the compresor with a used one from Ian's 3 years ago. Mine siezed solid and snapped the alt belt.

I think what you're saying is that the compressor clutch bearing froze. If so, you have a few options:
1) remove the clutch and then replace the bearing, reinstall the clutch (cheapest option but not sure where you will order the bearing from).
2) remove and replace the compressor clutch. (clutch estimate $75 to $150)
3) Remove and replace the compressor (which usually can be bought with a clutch; estimate $50 to 500).
I happen to have just had the clutch off of my compressor and it is pretty easy to remove. First pull the compressor (must depressurize the AC system), remove the small nut a the center of the clutch, rent the clutch plate removal tool from Autozone and pull the front plate (careful not to lose that little washer behind the plate - its critical). Remove the large snap ring and pull off the center section of the clutch (IIRC -the bearing is held in this section and retained with some wierd sort of snap ring). Put it all back together and roll-on. Good luck...Bruce

Ditch the AC dead weight entirely with an AC delete bracket.
It will mount the alternator where the AC was, lower your CG, and save some weight, plus easier to deal with one accessory over 2.
Paragon Products has the hook-up there!
