Default Selling the 951, SoCal

Black 1986 951 for sale 138,000 miles, located in Pasadena area, service records:

Clutch done in last 30k
Belts done in last 2k
replaced one of the axles, bad CV joint
Replaced many interior bits, door panels, center console, rear hatch carpet
Previous owner rebuilt AC system, needs charge of r-12
fixed coolant leaks (bad hoses)
replaced aux turbo water pump
rear ride height reset, all 4 wheels aligned
injectors recently cleaned/replaced

Koni yellows on all 4 corners
Steve R chips, will include oem ones
Seats have no cracks

The story is that I want a red 951 in concours condition... the current one is black, bought recently in april, have begun the slow methodical process of restoration... mechanically is in good shape, the body does not need any work, just allot door dings. The previous owner resprayed, and the job is beginning to flake.

Overall car is a 7/6.9 out of 10.

Asking price is 6900, there are some minor things wrong with the car:

AC trim panel cracked
Seat recline ***** (one on each seat missing)
small power steering leak
door dings, stone chips
driver's door hinge worn
glovebox door stays are missing
cracked dash
bad fuel pressure check valve (car starts, but requires 2-3 cranks)
Car recently had a new case of Castrol Syntech put in.

How did you get on with the clutch in the end. Was quite a post for your question in total.
$6.900 seems a bit steep to me - considering its faults - but maybe you're in a "high" area, price-wise.

yeah the clutch thread was very informative, the using the hand-brake bit seems impossible on these cars as its on the left and not the middle. The price of the car is negotiable, as with everything else in life. Would just like to get an offer and move it so I can look for a concours winner.

Rebuilding is fun, but I can't stomach gambling to pay someone to fix door dings/sand and repaint when the result isn't a given.
