Default Is a 931 transmission the same as a 944?

I know of four 931's going to the crusher soon since the guy is moving from his warehouse. If the transmissions are the same, I'd like to grab one as a spare for my two 944's. Anyone know?

Thanks,
944togo

Nope, they are different. However, you should offer a package deal for all 4, or at least give the board some heads-up info. /location/condition of the cars/contact info. Better to save them than leave them to the crusher.

If anyone want parts from them, email me at: amxess@aol.com. All the cars are in very good condition and are complete. I've gotten some parts and have let some 944 owners know about them also. The owner will not part them out or ship anything - he does not have the time. I even told Ian at 944 online about them but he has no room.
I don't want to list my friends tel# here, but if anyone needs anything, I'll see what I can do. I don't have time to ship large stuff either.

So, are any of the dashboards in good condition? Are they too large to ship?

Thanks,
Kevin

What year of 931? The later years (1981-82 I think) have a transmission that is very similar to the 944. I think it will bolt up and work for an early 944.

One is an 80 and one is an 82 and I don't know the other two years. I know nothing about these cars, but did see similarities to the 944's as the rear driveline looked similar and I did grab the Koni Yellows off one of them. If someone wants to make an offer on all four, I'll relay it to my friend or email me and I'll get you in touch with him. He got these for money owed him and he has no knowledge of these cars either. I took a hood off one (bolted right on my 83 944), my friend is supposedly getting a windshield, and some other parts may go soon. Cars have to go soon!

Please don't crush cars like these unless they are all rotten. It makes me feel bad that someone would do that..

These cars are all in pretty good shape and all are restorable. I'm not crushing them! My friend who owns them has to be out of this storage yard soon and has no room for these at his new business. He does not want to see them crushed either-so if someone wants to buy all of them, let me know and I'll put you in touch with the owner. They are all in Ft. Lauderdale.

Hey, if they do wind up getting parted out, I really, really need a good black drivers side door, the not metalic black. The rear window track on mine is broken at the bottom. And if any of them have manual windows, I will take a pair of the regulators, window cranks and inside door panels (if black).

You know, maybe see if Ian down in Pompano would take them Edit:that's not the Ian your talking about is it?

if he is going to crush a perfectly driveable, good condition car, why not tell him i will send a flatbed for one of them and i will take it off his hands

I just don't understand how some people just want to throw money away..... put it on ebay or something and will be gone in 7 days.
