So who think a 17x9 rim with an et of 22mm and a 20mm adapter will work in the rear? And the fronts are going to be 17x9 et 35

Why are you both going with such a small (relative) width on a wide wheel? Why would you want to stretch a tire that much? 10" wide wheels are capable of running up to around 295s. 235 on a 10" wide wheel is just plain silly.

Fitment issues within the fender. And not a big fan of a meaty tire look on these cars. Plus a 235 won't be horribly stretched.

Plus I said I was going to run a 245 tire. Heres what that may look like. Which is barely stretched.

Yes I understand, the other guy said he was going 235. I still don't see how you will have issues with fitment inside the fenders. I also don't understand why you'd run such a wide wheel with such skinny tire, kind of defeats the purpose.

Ahh thought you said i was going to run that. haha sorry. And the car isn't fast (yet) so in the meantime I'm just going to make it look nice (by my standards). Once more performance starts coming into play ill be looking for a new set of wheels and tires suitable for that. But for now a clean daily will do just fine for me.

Agreed.

I know you are going for appearance, but I bet four 17x8s with appropriate tires drives much nicer. I don't mind a little stretch on a VW, but it seems silly on a 944.

Plus bigger wheels and tires = more weight = slower car. I also think some low offset 17x8 wheels would suit the car better. The rear could be spaced out a little more to get the desired effect while having a nice square setup.

I see what your saying. But i love the look of a wide wheel in the rear.

So I've been looking at these wheels. They offer them in 17x10 and 17x8.5. Only concern is running the 8.5 in the front. Im pretty sure i should be able to get away with it. The offset for the front is 20mm and the rear would be 15mm. Still thinking this probably won't work. Heres the wheel.

Don't expect those bolts on the 3-piece wheels to actually be functional. But if your only concern is PRICE and LOOKS those cheap Chinese made, spun-cast and heavy replicas fit the bill nicely.
