Default radio, amp, & equalizer for 924S?

I'm finally getting around to installing a Blaupunkt Reno into my 1987 924S. When I tore the car down it had a Blaupunkt BEQ-MS equalizer and a Blaupunkt BPA-415-A 60 watt amp in the dash (neither hooked up). The Reno has a female 8 pin preamp socket , the equalizer has only one connection (a male 8 pin cord), and the amp has a female 7 pin socket with a male-male cord plugged in.
Were either of these stock? If so, I'm guessing the equalizer would have to plug into the Reno. What does the 7 pin amp do ?
Would I need an amp with the radio to drive 4 new Alpine speakers ?

EQ plugs into Reno. The amp would then be plugged into EQ but without seeing your set up am not sure how. EQ should have an input for Reno which it seems to have but also an output for the amp. Would make sense for them to use different pinned connectors for the system, so things are not plugged incorrectly. Maybe if you posted a bunch of pics of EQ connectors and amp connectors I could help more, unless of course someone else already knows how to configure your set up ?

The equalizer has only the corded 8 pin plug, no other connection at all. If I need to use the amp ( don't know?) my guess is I would need to wire each speaker individually through it. Looking more at the amp I see that it has plugs for input ( rca or 3.5mm) and speaker connections going to the speakers. Thinking about it now I would say the amp is NOT stock but the equalizer may be. Anyone know for sure?

The EQ may be a slave unit that feeds it's EQ'd signal back into the Reno, that then puts that altered signal out through speakers, so not having outputs would be right. Does the Reno have any other leads or connectors that could be fed into amp ?

head units back then had very low powered speaker outputs (about 7 watts) so an amp is needed IMO. If this amp wont work, most decent amps these days have speaker level inputs so could be used with this older gear no probs and is a good idea IMO
