That $835 price is looking better and better! I think I'll go for the Yellow's. I'll stick them on the soft setting, and get killer response and handling. It IS a Porsche...it should be firm and responsive (yeah, just like my wife)!

By my calculations, Paragon has the insert yellows at $110 each, and the rear shocks at $115 each. That comes to $450...not $600??

Ah. Wonder if the $835 price I was quoted included those parts?
I can see why so many of us do our own repairs! If I had the time, or the space...

maybe it was 450 not 550. i will check my quicken and report back. somehow 700 total sticks in my mind, which would make 835 right because you are getting the $140 alignment.
seriously think about the ball joints while you are there, and getting the alignment. the parts are just under 200, and the labor is probably only another 75-100.
we will have you at 15 in no time. the car does ride like a new car with the shocks and ball joints.

no im talking front ball joints. instead of replacing the control arms just get the ssi ball joints and have any barely competant mechanic change them.
my wrench said he would do ball joints for me all day instead of oil cooler o rings.
on the rear it is cv joints, and $104 rubber cv boots that rot and rip from sitting next to the exhaust.

Ah. I thought getting re-built control arms made more sense than replacing the ball joints. They were $169 each after the core rebate. I guess not having to take the whole front end apart and just replacing the ball joint makes more sense if you're paying by the hour?

I just did the balljoint replacement using Rennbay's kit. It took literally 2-3 hours total. Remove the C-clip on bottom, everything fell out when i did this (spring, bushings, ball-rod). Then re-assemble and apply epoxy to over the C-clip. It is VERY simple.

why give up your cores for unknown cores? 169X2 = 340 plus the same labor to remove the arms. no sending cores back etc.
you can start a new thread on which kit is better, rennbay or SSI. i dont know.

True. The rebuilt arms I got from Vertex weren't as pretty as the oem arms I sent them in exchange--of course the ball joints were better on the Vertex arms.
I'll see what the mechanic says.

I just installed Koni with stock springs and swaybars. I turned front and back all the way stiff and then back 1/2 turn. The ride is smoooooooth and it handles very well. I bought them from Paragon, installed myself and marked the struts, the alignment seems really good, but I am going to have it done anyway. Get the Konis, though, it is a bit more costly on the later cars.

I vote for konis. On my 924S originally I have sport package M30 and it feels great, not to stiff but hard enough to make 1 g when cornering. Now I just install Boge on my back and fells like a big Mercedes.I don't like them at all.So spent some money for the Koni.

Andy,
I paid $541 from paragon last July 19th! the fronts were 150 each, the rears wer120 each i think.
$850 complete with an alignment is not bad. if you didnt like little bmw feel, you wont like big mercedes feel! Koni Koni Koni!
i say do the ball joints too, because if they go soon you wasted $ on an alighment. shocks, ball joints and an alignment should be about 1100 total. but the car will feel like a new car when done. trust me on that one.
