Default 1985.5 944 - how to replace spark plug wires

I thought replacing these would be straightforward but I do not see how you have enough room to thread the wires for cylinders 2,3,4 out as they are under some part of the vacumn system (?) and there is not enough room to pull the end connectors through. Do I need to remove something to get access?

Thanks

maybe just disconnect one hose or something to push it away. Then just reconnect the line when you are done. Those tight spaces are a hassle sometimes.

Yes just wondering if there is something I am missing. Looks like that is the fuel pressure regulator in the way(?).

Cut them if it's easier to remove or pull the ends off. When you install the new ones you don't have to weave them in there like that were

Managed to thread them through with some patience, no need to remove anything. Thanks

perhaps you were not aware that the plug ends unscrew so you can thread them through under the manifold with no difficulty. try it on the old set.

I did try that - couldn't get the ends off. I got the Karlyn-STI brand, not sure if it has the same feature.

Using the OEM Beru wire set, with a little finnegeling and wire looms, I was able to carefully (so as not to pull apart or kink the wires) route the wires from the ignition cap to each spark plug. Pushing down on the plug and the cap until you hear a click. See my pics for the routing I used. Also a useful tool to pull and maneuver the wires around the intake and regulators is a set of long, 90 degree end, needle nose pliers.
