I received Eds dimming module today, I must say I've never seen anything so professionally made! The quality of the set ( I ordered DIY kit) is outstanding, including instruction manual.

Thanks, Darek. There's a 90% done installation guide, too; I didn't have it completed in time for your shipment (so far, everyone has managed without it since it is, after all, a pretty simple device), but I'll try to remember to send you a link to it when it's done. You might need it since it contains, among other things, instructions on how to train the module in case the resistance of your car's rheostat is significantly different than those on the 928.

Please keep me informed on how you fare on assembling the DIY kit... you're only the second person to go that route.

Installation will be easy. I'll try to assembe the kit in next week and update you with the result but looking at the kit it shouldn't take longer than an hour.

Hi there,
Did you manage to get this dimmer working at all ?!

You can see the connector there for what hooks into the back of the dimmer.

Ill be honest, not much of an electrician so some of these topics I don't fully understand. This AILD-1 looks amazing if it would work...

Thanks for any help.

I did assemble and fit the dimmer - it works perfectly. Assembly (I bought DIY kit) is very easy and straight forward for somebody who has minimal soldering experience. With regards to installation in the car - it requires some cutting and soldering of existing wires (2 of) as far as I can remember. It was a long time ago, I don't recall any details except for that it was easy... Anyway, the instruction manual that Ed provides with his dimmer is super detailed and very easy to follow.

I know this is an old thread but just in case somebody comes along wondering what dimmable LED bulbs will work in a 968, here's what I just installed and they work great so far:

I originally bought them for my 1996 Toyota Tacoma a couple years ago and had some leftover. I got them on Amazon for about $9 for 20 bulbs and this may or may not be the seller (I don't remember): Dimmable T10 LED's

I just bought this 968 about a week ago and had the cluster out to clean the footballs etc. Since the lights were dim I figured I'd try these since they worked so well in my pickup. I hope somebody can use this info. It's not much for my first contribution to the forum, but hopefully it helps someone...

Just a reminder that there is a production run of LED reflectors that are designed for the late 928/944/968 clusters here:

Perry: I'm in no matter what for what I ordered but just to make sure, the dimmer module mentioned above should work with your assembly, correct?

I don't see why it wouldn't.
