Default Can I fit two early offset wheels on a late offset car?

I'm looking to move my '87 about 30'. The problem is that I currently do not have tires for it, I ordered some about two weeks ago and so far I have access to one. That plus the spare makes two corners movable. A coworker has a set of wheels/tires for his 912 that is currently not running that I might be able to borrow.

Would I be able to fit the two early wheels on the front or rear without hitting or am I dreaming? I need to move the car off the driveway otherwise I'd just use a jack under the front.

912 or 912E? Probably doesn't matter though.

Unless your car is lowered, since you shouldn't be compressing the suspension excessively it should be fine.

Check brake clearance though. If they are 14" steelies or 14" Fuchs they may not fit over the brakes.

Also if they are steelies ask him if your lugnuts are the right seat. So you don't mall up the lug nuts or something. (Obviously that's important to hold the wheel on, but you probably won't be exceeding 5 mph!)

Put the spare and your wheel on the front, 912 wheels on the rear for brake clearance.

Take care,

Early offset wheels when fitted on a late model car will either fit but will be sticking out past the fender/quarter or won't clear the brakes. Also, depending on the width/offset of the early model wheel it may fit fine. Since you only need the wheels to move the car I'd put them on and move it.

To move it 30' you should be fine as long as you clear the brakes. When I bought my 89 the guy before had put 16" Fuchs on it and it rubbed the inside of the lip on rears in hard corners. Otherwise no issues.
