Default New Orleans 944s

Went to Nawlins Monday to visit a friend and the 944 Turbo died on the down side the high rise bridge. Turned out to be the DME relay. Fixed it by inserting the cap of a Corsair USB drive between the two contacts. Made it 76 miles back to Gulfport, MS. It would have been nice to be able to contact another member for some possible help (although it was Monday Night Football for the Saints, I wouldn't do that to anyone). Definitely hard to find a place to pull over to the side over there. But it would be great to know who has a reputable garage.

I'm in Lafayette. 2 1/2 hours from NO. A bit far for a quick lending hand though. I've had no luck around my parts for service on my car, so it's all dyi. People look at it likes it's a UFO or something. Wish there were a couple guys round here to hang and talk shop. If your ever in these parts PM me!

Last Lemming,

Don't know if you are a member of the local PCA Club, but there are a lot of the members who have 944's. Most of them are set up for racing but there is a lot of experience there.

There is a new shop called Harold's Werkstatt in Lafayette. He is an old Porsche Mechanic.

Check him out he is a nice guy and there is a Car's & Coffee every month where you could meet other Porsche owners.
