Default Girling Master Cylinder on ATE Booster

Hey guys I need to replace my master cylinder and I was wondering if the Girling Master will work on the ATE booster? I know 944online has one that works for both but I can get the other way cheaper from work. Clarks website states it really doesn't matter and I know I have read a post wear others have tried just can't find it. Thanks for the assistance.

This one says it works for the ATE so I guess this would work if not:

I thought so, I found this forum post as well which confirms it so I may just get the cheaper one. My brakes have felt spongey for a long time and I fix a leak but apparently this one was leaking as well so honestly anything is better than where I'm at.

I had a problem when I used a Girling M/C with my ATE booster. I could never get a solid brake pedal feel. In other words, the brakes always felt soft no matter how many times I bled them. I did some research and it turns out that the extended piston length is 0.5" shorter in the Girling M/C, than the ATE M/C, which the ATE booster is designed for. If you look up the M/C on Pelican, it states that the ATE M/C should be used with the ATE booster.

If you want a near new Girling M/C, I have one for sale that I had to swap out with a ATE to solve my problem. You can have it for $40+shipping. I also have a good ATE M/C available for the same price.

The best way to avoid headaches is to match M/C with booster from that same brand:

Hmm that's interesting, the ATE M/C on my girling works well and doesn't drag the brakes. I ordered the Girling part number from the dealer and they gave me the ATE so I figured it wasn't a big deal. This was on a 944S Though and I see that's a different part number all together from the NA.

Well I already ordered the Girling one so we'll see how it goes, I'll try adjusting the push rod from the booster and see if it helps.
