Last week when I left my S2 with my mechanic to change the O rings that go to the oil cooler (the old oil in the coolant trick) I ordered the alignment tool from Performance in Van Nuys.
I just called and was told the part was back ordered, wont be in till next Tuesday which means I wont get the part for two weeks.
Two questions
How important is the tool?
Does anyone know of a place that has the tool in stock & can sell it to me asap.
Thanks again
Thanks "emilysgranny" for your steps. We put the car on the lift followed your directions, the manuals pictures, the haynes NA pictures, and think you are right - again.

I got mine from Pelican Parts, see if they have any. It is supposed to be quite important, but some people have reported using the oil pressure releife valve itself.

Tom, If you get the alignment tool from Performance MAKE sure it's the correct one for your car. I think the S2's take the same one mine ('88 S) uses which is threaded near the base. If yours uses the older plain one I'll sell you a brand new old style one cheep.
