Alright, the guy seems shady, I think I will step away from the car... Anyone know who Nona Ryder is? I do, she is a reporter... I am looking at the 1983 Black 944, $2500 (almost mint) that she used to own. She sold it to her good friend who just turned 50. Now he is selling it. The car was garage kept until 1995... Holy smokes... That i think is a good deal. I will probably get a PPI done next week or sometime soon. Eh? Sounds pretty good...

I agree with Renntag! Although I am currently having a fuel problem with my 1984 944...before which it was running like new....you are talking about a 17-18 year old vehicle......if it was driven on a regular basis ( figure 10k miles per year) we'd be taking about in the relm of 170,000 miles...start with the PPI before you panic about the odometer....they happen to break VERY often on these cars and I would not be surprised to learn that there are a great many 944's running around with something less than the true mileage reported.....mine broke shortly after I got the car.....at about 78,000 miles a year ago...it's a 3rd car for me and gets used on the occasional weekend...so when I get around to replacing the odometer I'll be estimating the true mileage.

That said....I would also not expect the large varience that you mentioned above so moving on may have been the right move.

Good luck!

same as any other. If it is as good as you say...JUMP ON IT! THE GOOD ONES GO FAST! Get over there ASAP. Leave a deposit, then get the PPI to close the deal...or just take a chance. If it looks SWEET! Then Buy it.

Bring a mega pixel diggy cam, snap some shots to show us.

Good luck.

Well I should be soon... It looks like a quite nice car and the person selling it seems very nice and honest...
