Clicking from rear

I have an 86 na 944 5spd with 88k on it. Been well maintained, but I am hearing a clicking noise from the back.
It does not do it constantly, and I have only noticed it in first and second gear after the car has been driven a while. Does this sound like a CV joint or maybe a frozen brake caliper. Has anyone had experience with this?
Thanks
On a funny side note when this first happened I was driving with a friend who knows nothing about the 944, and has a honda. He said, "It doesnt sound like anything major, its coming from the rear of the car."

it sounds like you have a bad cv joint i would check the drivers side inner joint for it is the most common to go out. also if the bad one is on the drivers side do yourself a favor and replace the whole shaft. the heat from the muffler eats up the grease in the cv joints and shortns the life of the drivers side shaft. hope this info helps
