Default Relocating wheel weights?

I was finally able to get my 16" fuchs back on after doing a Turbo S brake upgrade on the fronts of my 86T. I needed a 7mm spacer to do so. Unfortunately the wheel weights were brushing the caliper. They were stuck to the rim just behind the spokes.

Before I drive to the tire shop only to be told "no" or something, is it possible to relocate the wheel weights to the "lower" part of the rim? This would allow them to easily clear the caliper. Or are there different ways to get around this problem?

Balancers have to have the locations of the weight programmed in, so you should be able to program a different location for the weights (but it'll take different amount of weight).

There's a reason why Porsche made the 16" Club Sport wheels... they are the smallest wheel that really fits.

If you're going to use spacers, you've installed longer wheel studs, right?

Find a shop that can balance the wheels on the car, this used to be very popular in years gone by and a much better way of balancing imo.

Upside:
Balances the whole rotating assembly not just the wheels and tire.

They can clearly see where to place the weights to avoid contact with the caliper.

Downside:
You cannot rotate your wheels.

When you take a wheel off you have to put it on the same way (holes in the same studs)

Thanks for the info guys. Yeah I put longer studs on since I had heard I might need the spacers. And I sure did!
