Default Boss 302 Coyote swap

Love the engine... Is it a possible swap for a 944? Tried searching the net and only found people trying the old 5.0's. Pricey engine but I'd imagine it be a very rare/$$$$ swap.

Reality is, the LSx is the v8 to swap. There are kits, it's been sorted out. The ford would be cool if it fits, but you'll need to do the development work to make that happen.

I saw that engine being highlited on a "Fast and Loud" episode and not only was the motor expensive but it looked very wide. I'm not sure it would fit in the hole since it barely fit inthe engine bay of a '67 Ford Galaxie. The Chevy LS series have already been sorted out for the 944 and they're cheaper and more plentiful. Go to google and get the info on the comparisons on the difference between the LS motors and you'll find the right one. The aluminum block motors are close in weight to the 944 engine. No sense in re-inventing the wheel.

That motor is H U G E. No way it's gonna fit. Also underperforms compared to the LSx, which is a vetted swap into a 944. Like mine.

It's still relatively new motor, and it is not cheap, so not many have found new homes as engine swaps. Just from eyeballing it I think it would be a tough fit both width and height.

FWIW I've put 52K miles on my Coyote-powered Mustang already and the motor is very fine indeed. It's the reason I bought the car and I've no regrets.

as in; there's no part of the whole; fitment, driveline, power, cooling, exhaust, ps, brakes, abs, ac, intake, etc, lacking in reliability.

Underperforms? It's a smaller v8 with 444hp revs to 7500. Also aluminum block. But u guys are right, I was just curious if it's even possible. Guess that's why the stangs have those huge bulging hoods

DOHC V8 is very wide, as others have pointed out, doubt it will fit.

The LS motor is so tiny and works so well, no sense in reinventing the wheel unless you are just bored and want to do something different.

If that's the case, drop in a flathead V8.

Another question to those who did the LSx swap. What's the car like? Does if feel over powered? I'm gonna do the swap, just curious what people thought of the end result.

Nope, the motor doesn't overwhelm the chassis at all. Weight and balance isn't effected.

I'm getting 400rwhp out of mine, with basic, easy, cheap bolt ons. I'm not calling the Coyote motor bad, but dollar for dollar it's not the V8 motor to swap into a 944.

remember if you live at high altitude. the 444 hp the engine produces at sea level won't be the same at higher elevation
