I replaced the coil and the DME. Car runs better, but still total loss of engine power occasionally. The tach definitely goes to zero with the clutch out and engine still turning over while coasting. It is as if I turned the key off, except I still have accessory power. Somewhere along the line the charging light failed (bulb is still good). May not be related. The battery is staying charged. the engine failure is of short duration and seems to be arbitrary. Each occurance has been between 15 minutes and 1 hour of running on the highway. I cleaned up the battery terminals and the ground straps. Has my computer gone snafu on me? With the tach going to zero it seems to be in the ignition circuit. any suggestions where to look? I don't want to replace the computer until I am sure that's the most likely cause. Thanks.

I'm having similar problems, though my project car hasn't even made it on the street yet (for any number of reasons).
Check out the responses under "944S cuts off" (I'd link it, but I'd probably screw it up) for some more suggestions.
