Electrical Problems with the Door Chime
I'm trying to debug some electrical problems; wondering if anyone has any suggestions: My warning chime sounds anytime the door is open (lights / signals off, key removed, sunroof closed...).
I have the wiring diagrams and have followed the signals on the G16 relay, although I'm not sure exactly what to test. I've tried testing the signals coming in from the headlights, and it look OK; the signal from the ignition switch I'm not so sure about.
I'm guessing the problem is a faulty signal coming from the ignition switch, but not sure how to test futher. Any suggestions / procedures on tracing the problem?
TIA,

Have you tried graphite/lock lube in the ign. switch? The sensor can get gummed up and not spring back when the key is removed. HTH, Sorry, I can't help with what wire to test.

This might be stupid, but make sure your turn signal isn't on because I sat there for a few minutes one time trying to figure why the chime is going off, and I had bumped my turn signal (which turns the parking light on that side of the car on).
