![Question](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Well I'm replacing the stock Blau Charleston with a 1 yr old JVC until I decide what to really get and I can't get the JVC to power on. I ordered an adapter from Crutchfield and wired it up per the instructions; the radio played briefly, flashed a few timed and quit. Radio tests good on the bench. I measured constant and switched 12v earlier but now only get switched 12v. I checked fuse 36 and 39, they are good. What's the next step? Can I trace the constant 12v without taking the dash apart? Tap into it some where else. Anyone know what the other wires right there are for (2-3) wires with factory foam zip tied around them?
Thanks,
John
Thanks,

If its like mine there is an inline fuse on the hot/red wire up under the dash near the steering wheel column. Look up there and see if you don't see one as well.
The other thought is you wired the power line of the radio to the wrong lead; possibly the antenna booster lead, or something else.

Tom,
Thanks for posting, I didn't know about the inline fuse (on the constant 12v right?). Problem is now fixed. I think the issue was in the fuse block on #39 which powers the constant and the antenna booster. The blau worked but lost clock and memory when the car was shut off, turns out this stereo only needed the switched 12v while new ones need both. This fuse in 39 was either bad (but looked good) or not seated correctly in the contacts, repeated reseating finally got it working. <img src="graemlins/drink.gif" border="0" alt="[cherrsagai]" />
