Updated Water Pipe/Hose for Turbo Cooler
I recently came across a reference to an updated design for one of the water pipe/hose connections between the turbo and turbo water pump on the 944 Turbo.
IIRC, the "new" part is made from braided metal flex hose instead of the original rubber.
Details:
ORIGINAL
Pipe: 951.106.055.00
Hose: 951.106.248.00
UPDATED
Pipe: 999.230.365.02
Hose: 951.106.048.00
I have already pulled my turbo to replace the oil o-rings, so it would be a good time to take care of this item as well.
Can someone who has done the conversion post a picture with commentary? Is this a "must-do" or "nice to have" item?

IIRC, my local dealer wanted $80 for the updated kit. It's a L-shaped hose with a special aluminum foil looking heat shield wrap & a new hose barb fitting. Looked like something for the space shuttle. I just reused my old hose. I'd consider it a "nice to have" but for $80 I said I'll pass.
