It's a DME unit for a 1986 951. I know I'd need the specific number off it (unavailable as I type this) for any details, but I'm asking if there are any shops that would take your DME unit and run it through tests to verify function. I'd be willing to pay a diagnostic fee of course.
Porsche dealers offer no such thing (no surprise!) but I was hoping someone or some shop out there with a disposition to fool around with electronics might have such a service.
Currently, all I know of are shops that will take my unit in trade for a rebuilt unit. Mighty gracious of them - for ~$500.![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
So someone can "fix" these things...I suppose they have no motivation, then, to simply "test" them.
