Post jerky in low rpms

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone could help me with my '85 944. It is extremely jerky in first and second gear from 2000 rpm and below. It is fine when accelarating, but as soon as I lift off the gas a little, it bucks the whole car (feels like being on a bucking bronco in a rodeo).

It also occurs when trying to stay at a constant speed in any gear when at 2000 rpm or lower. Could it be the throttle sensor?

Any help or info is greatly appreciated.

Start by replacing your plugs, cap and rotor, all your vaccum lines, and your air filter. If the problem persists, ask the board again. This may very well take care of it.

Arn't the cars designed to be operated above 2000 RPM?
I am almost sure at least the NA has insufficient power below 2200 RPM.
Maybe someone who can bring light here?

I just finished a complete engine rebuild.

New Cap, rotor, plugs, clutch, O2 sensor, cleaned out all the vaccum lines. It had this problem before the rebuild though.

Only thing I haven't really touched is the trans. Or the various vaccum sensors.
