You have a 72 TR6? How on earth are you keeping that running? I swore off Brit cars forever after having one of those and compounding the mistake with a TR7 - well my ex-wife actually had them but guess who had to keep them working? And this was abck in the 70's when they were fairly young cars!

Anyway, I've been told by a locksmith the door locks are the same as Audi/VW - I know for a fact the key blanks are.

Sorry about your car.

Lots of "blood, swea & tears" and a double set of tools in the box...
It could be worse: TR4/TR5

Subject key cylinders:
Identical with Golf / Rabbit series 1 & 2.
If you have the bare barrel, you can even swap the lips(?, the brass inserts that fix the cylinder when the key is out) to match your original P-key.
Saw a web site some 6 months ago that had replacement lips and springs.
Can't find them anymore, anyone else?

Iceshark,

You pessimist ..... Brit cars are easier to keep running than these massive yank tanks that clutter up both sides of the road!

The only way to keep a British car from the 70's running right is to throw cash at it.

Most people make the mistake of doing bits and pieces to keep it running. I went a little overboard......

Car - £2000
New Chassis - £2000
New Body - £4000
New engine - £3000
New bankmanager
New interior - £1000

As you can imagine, it also took a good year and a half out of my life. But hey, it's worth it. Problem is, now I'm working overseas, it's stuck in my Dad's garage for the most time. He gets to drive it more than I do. If I ever manage to talk my girlfriend into buying me a digital camera, I'll post some pics.
