Default fs or parting out my 85.5 944

I bought this car new but I just don't have time anymore to do everything - high mileage but running, needs CAT, cosmetic body work, etc - the most valuable thing on the car are the original Porsche Fuchs 911 wheels (they came on the car), never raced = there are some more details in a craglist posting here: http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst...993976131.html

I would much rather this go to someone who will fix the car up - if I can't sell it I may be obliged to restore it and I have other things I really would rather do first

May want to fix your add....your car is not an "S2"...which is a 16v 3.0l car with the turbo nose, etc (see my avatar).

GLWS!

ok, the PET-6 refers to all the cars starting in late 85 as S2, but apparently there is a second thing called an S2 also - how does one resolve these things? there must be mixed nomenclature. The 16valve cars are, in my understanding called an S (I have some parts from one that failed an aerodynamic experiment), and these "S" cars are also members of the S2 series

The PET nomenclature really means "series II" and it refers to all '85.5+ cars that had the updated dash, aluminum control arms, flush mounted windshields and rain gutters, etc.

Here's a model summary for you:
924 - 2.0 liter 8 valve
924 turbo - 2.0 liter 8 valve turbo charged
944 - 2.5 liter 8 valve
924S - 2.5 liter 8 valve (same motor as 944)
944S - 2.5 liter 16 valve
944S2 - 3.0 liter 16 valve
968 - 3.0 liter 16 valve with variocam
944 turbo - 2.5 liter 8 valve turbo charged
944 turbo S - 2.5 liter 8 valve turbo charged (larger turbo hot-side, upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension)

Exactly... Not trying to bust *****! Just want to make sure you know what you have and are selling.

well, I guess I know what I have, since I bought it new and have the receipt, but I hadn't realized that there was a later series of the 16 valve until now - I pretty much quit paying attention to the newer cars
