John,
As I said to you on the phone I plan on getting most of my parts from SFR and latter on, all of my performance parts. As for my block and the 106mm bore, I am just trying to find out all of my options. I have rebuilt a few engines in the past, but I know very little about machine shops. I still know very little. The 106mm bore is still my first option. I just want to talk to everyone I can and find out as much information before I put down any money. I trust you when you say that you have had no problems with the 106. I was only relaying something I had heard.

Why do you want to go so big? You are going to street this right, kinda a daily driver and want to get some miles out of it? Your block was not that bad if I remember.
Why not go with a good hone and polish, and 1st over? If you are hell bent on a 2.8, I understand. But if it were me (and I am doing this as we speak), I'd go 1st over and leave it be. This way, down the road when you want to go big, you can. You go all bore on 106mm, you have no choice but to sleve it on the next go round.
