Default Help! 968 Blue Hose Replacement

Hey guys! I'm jumping over from the 928 forum to help a buddy of mine who has a 968. His blue hose is rapidly deteriorating and we are about to replace it. Can someone point me to a link or hints/tips/tricks to replace. We've already purchased the hose so we are ready to go from that perspective.

I appreciate everyone's input!

Yes - you are correct. The blue hose that runs from the master cylinder down to the clutch i believe.

No huge tricks to it, the big thing is to be very careful at the clutch master. The nipple is plastic and its easy to break it. Once you have it off the master its just a matter of rerunning the hose and then bleeding. If you have a power bleeder its much easier to finish it.

OK. Cool. It sounds like taking a very sharp exacto knife and making a long slice to relieve pressure should be the way to go. I do have one of those HD power bleeders. Thanks!!!

I just did this two days ago. It can be a real pain to get the old hose off as there's not much room to work in there, but just work real slowly in order not to break the nipples at the reservoir or MC. Also, Once the new hose and clamps are installed, if you add the fluid very slowly the air can work it's way up the hose and you might not have to bleed the system. Worked for me without bleeding and the clutch feels perfect.
