You probably want to find some 7x16" rims for the front and 8x16" rims for the back. These are the sized that Porsche found prudent. The stock tyre sizes for these rims are 205/55 and 225/50 respectively. I would stick with stock, but many people go wider.
If you use late wheels you will need spacers to hold them out far enough.

I have 16x8 and 9. I use 245/45 and 225/45 on my '83. works great! Tire size is perfect.
I have a set of rims i MIGHT be interested in selling, 3 piece, black mesh with polished outters. wrapped with Kumho ecsta supra K712s with less than a 'K' on them.
I can send a pic of them on my car. (Raising money for a business venture, every Ben Franlin counts)

I agree with Tabor...that combo is working out great on my '84. Late model phone dials w/spacers. I think there might be 16" phone dials off an '86 turbo that would fit without spacers?

LOL...
unless you have an extra $2000 laying around you will not find a decent set of 16*8 and 9s. I don't even think that will include tires if the wheels are in good shape.
If you go with 86 951 8's all around, you may have to buy two sets, but the phones are pretty cheap. Also try aftermarket. A friend of mine has some real nice enkeis that fit tight in the body work. I believe they are 16*7.5s with 225s all around. If interested, give him an email at matt@secomputers.com. I think he is interested in selling them. Good luck.
