Post 924 Track car???

I just want to know what is involved in making a stock 81 924 a track car?
and i would like to know where would i race it??? HOw would i find events??? I am interested because i am investing in my 3rd 924, and i want to make (i think) it a track car but i dont want to dump thousands upon thousands into a car. As it is i have to currently rebuild the motor cause it has a bad headgasket so any small mods while i'm in there would be nice. I want to be in a class that would allow me to run mostly stock and do some small mods along the way???

Thanks for the info.

Mark

I am also a fellow Michigan person. I race at Waterford Hills in Waterford. There are a couple of 944s and I have a friend who runs a 924 in ITA. We run mostly SCCA rules. The PCA also rents the track now and then for track days. For more info go to http://www.waterfordhills.com or http://www.vaughanscott.com . Let me know if you have any other questions.

Nice car, I have never rebuilt a P-car engine but have done plenty of others, and will help any way I can.. I work in a shop and have mills and grinders accessable to me and plenty of time on midnights to do government work.

well, from what i can tell the 924 motor is pretty basic, it'll never have that prob with blowing the timing belt and trashing the whole top end, (but it'll never make the power of the 944 engine!!!Anywho, that sounds great billybones, i have done a LOT of stuff to cars, so far ecept rebuild a motor or tranny and i would love to learn to do both, (save me a S^IT load on trannys, $4000 just on 3 rebuilds thats jsut the cost of the rebuilds )

Not sure where we can go. There has to be some old country roads or some a nice twisty road somewhere. My car should be back in one piece by May/April.
That is my car and me driving!

Udamann - Just noticed the "White Lake CHIROPRACTIC" emblem on the car, and couldn't help but wonder who's sponsoring whom?

White Lake Chiropractic sponsored me last year for tires and fuel. What a help that was!! They sponsored my dad's car too.
Here is my dad's car, but with me in it
