Is the 1985.5 windshield the same as 1986? I would like to avoid confusion when ordering as I understand the 1985 and 1985.5 are different sizes.

Yes, they are the same. They can be ordered with or without the internal antenna.

The last time I had mine replaced it was about $700 installed. That was with the antenna and included the seal kit. The non-antenna windshield was about a $100 dollars or so less back in 2008. Be sure to remind them to reconnect your antenna, not that it works that great anyway.

I was happy with my safelite replacement. It was about $450 with the antenna.

I need to replace the windshield in my 87 - a rock hit it on a cold day and I watched the crack work it's way across the windshield - nothing I could do about it.

Mine has the antenna - but I do not need or want it in the replacement as I have not listened to broadcast radio for the better part of a decade.

Now I can't remember, is there a physical difference between late and early besides the antenna?

The early models do not have an antenna, correct? I thought I read that they are a 1/2in narrower.

Decided to go with Safelite, $495 w/o tax for the antenna version. Keeping my fingers crossed...

When I said they were the same I was referring to the 85.5 and the 86 MY. The early '85 will not fit your car. Sorry for any confusion.

Yes I told them I had an '86, hopefully it will fit.
