Post How to remove wiring harness from door?

I've been trying to remove the wiring harness from the driver's side door without success. The part of the harness which splits into two sections appears to be too large to fit through the door opening. I've thought about pulling the one section that appears to be binding through first, but it has a large plug on the end which is too large.

Is there a trick to this, or do I just keep working at it until it pulls through?

BTW - it is on a 1986 NA driver's side door. I'm trying to remove the harness to install a new door.

TIA

Bill

they terminate under the dash. you will have to remove the kickpanel carpet and the backing board underneath.( I didn't have good luck with the backing board). you have to take each connector out one at a time then they will come out..
