OK, I had written off the clicking under the hood to the injectors, after listening to a few other 944T's I am worndering if it could be the lifters. How can you tell 100% if it's the lifters or the injectors. If I am going to replace something I want it to be the right thing.
Thanks

Unplug all the injectors, then start the engine <jk>
Actually, I just got a mechanics stethoscope (sp) a few months back and it works great for finding the real source of mysterious noises. ~$20 at NAPA me thinks.
Not lifters though... followers (OHC). My injectors seem to make much less noise since their rebuild last year... maybe because they actually flow now![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
You could always try the ATF in oil trick... though, I know that draws some skepticism here.
Good Luck!

Yep, the unplug the injector trick seems to be the only way. I expect it's the lifters, it seems to quiet down when the revs go up. Changing them out is not what is bugging me, it's the lifter cost. Not to mention the recent failure reports about the INA lifters. I personally don't believe the INA lifter is any different from the Genuine Porsche lifter and will install the INA in my car if needed.
I only bring it up because INA is half what Genuine Porsche is.

INA lifters can be had for 39.00 from DK auto.
I don’t want to spread rumors I don’t even believe. I will install the lifters next week and post my opinion then. That way I am not giving you second or third hand information
