I had the same problem when i first got my car. Check the wires that are running to the headlights near the headlight raiser mechanism. Over time, the raising and lowering of the headlights creates a bend in the wires. Eventually they wear out and the headlights won't light. My solution was just to find the bad wire and splice it back together. Hope this helps!

Typically, 944s don't have any relays just for headlights, either high or low beam. So don't look for any unless aftermarket installs. There are seperate fuses for each beam on each side though, so a total of 4 fuses. Check those fuses.
Because of this design it would be sort of unusual to lose both beams at the same time unless the failure is between the battery and fuses. If only the high beams have failed and the fuses are OK, a likely culprit would be the high beam switch.

The feed is common for high and low beam until it reaches the dip switch, from there it has two outputs one for high and one for low. There is a line diagram of this on my web page as well as an uprated diagram for relays whish is easier to look at than explain. If you are not getting power at the fuses I would suspect the dip switch, they usually fail if people increase the bulb wattage without adding relays.
