Post Separate 944 and 944turbo boards

Not sure I like separate 944 and 944turbo boards - too many similarities between the models. Guess a line needed to be drawn somewhere, but...

Ahhh - you nailed one of biggest problems..!!! If I had NOT seperated them - I would have heard from all the 951 owners who wanted thei own Board..!!

Point well taken..!

Then why not have a general 924/944/968 board like the Email lists.

Too many topics are repeated from list to board... this will amplify the frustration of answering the same question numerous times... and, for the poster, not getting an answer due to the limited membership/knowledge base.

I already have an addiction John, can't you make this easier on me...

Nice format though

WEll, John..The jury is out....You can't say I haven't at least looked at it.

So far, I don't like it that well.

It's been fun....

Oh no! We lost best feature rennlist had going for it! The tree structure of the messages! Now this will be just like every other message board.

Also, not having the 924/931/944/951/968 watercoolers together.

(Should have put this here instead of a new topic)
I like the new format. Much easier to use and navigate.
However,
I have to add my dislike of separate boards for 944's. S2s and 951s share many common components and challenges. I got as much good info from 951 owners as from S2 owners. Neither NA's or 951s seemed unhappy with the old arrangement. Can you reconsider?

I would have to agree with the messages above. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate any effort to change or improve upon existing things, but too many things relate within the water cooled models to have them separated. I know some of the 951/952 crowd who spent big $$$'s would like not to be lumped in with those who spent a few hundred on a 77 924, but someday, someone's experience with that lowly 924 may benefit the owner of that big buck turbo. Just my 2 cents.

Ahhg, its just like Pelican. Agree as well, that the original board was better. Now I have to read 2 seperate boards, and post messages on both, to get a common issue addressed.

At least the search works on these new forums! So even if I have to search two boards, it'll be much easier with a functioning search engine.

Unfortunately, I agree as well. As a 951 owner, I have to monitor multiple lists to "keep up" with new information...
Really enjoyed the combined list...

Great new formate, but don't break up the cars, I like the crossover information you can get from all the other cars.

I agree. I liked the old water-cooled community as a whole.

Some of the discomfort is just because of the change. Give the format some time, see how familiarity with the new system grows on you, you may be surprised.
So far, cautious optimism.

It's got potential, however, I enjoyed the tree that the old board had. Unfortunately, this is the layout of all the other BBS's that I have used, and really don't care for it that much. As far as seperating the cars, NO WAY. Keep all the 924,944,968's together. And for that "951 owners spending thousands to be lumped in with a '78 924".... I have spent many thousands on my 951 and I still enjoy hearing comments from any Porsche owner no matter what they have. Hell.. I might be able to help them! (but not if I don't see the question) Keep 'em together, and find a way to bring back the tree! A+ for effort! Thanks.
