'88 - 944 radiator fan and sunroof
My '88 944 radiator fans come on when the temp rises, but then don't shut off? Even after the car is off they continue to run. I have to pull the radiator fan relay to shut them off. Any ideas? Coolant temp switch? Radiator fan relay? Thermo fan switch? Fan resistor? Help!
Also, My sun roof won't release? The power release on the console lifts the back, the 2 front latches will manually release but the gears in the back don't let go. Are they supposed to? This didn't work when I bought the car so I'm not sure how it comes out. I know the key needs to be in the #1 position.
Thanks,
Tim

Dear Tim,
How long do you let the Porsche sit before you pull the relay. The fans can run in a normal 944 for up to ten minutes after shut down.
If they continue to run then the temp switch mounted in the radiator has failed. I had this hapopen on my first Porsche, a 924, many moons ago. To confirm the switch has failed just pull off one of the wires when the fans are running after shut down. If the switch is failed shorted the fans will shut down. You can check the switch also using a multimeter. What I did was bypass the temp switch and install a manual switch inside, so I could control the fans.
Cannot help you with the sunroof. Never owned a Porsche with one,
Ciao,
Adrian
