The car is a 78 924 and the problem I have is I can't remember how this metal tube is mounted to the block...It's been 6 months since I took the motor out...

The part I'm talking about is the transfer tube shown on page 65 of the Haynes manual...picture 19.17 shows the front of the tube mounted to the block and I have no problem with that...It's the second mounting point at the back that is confusing me...It looks like something is missing...What is supposed to go between the block and the rear transfer tube mounting bracket...Any help is appreciated

 

The rear mounts to the top bolt of that side of the engine mount bracket... I'm guessing that you're having trouble connecting it if your engine is out of the car?
