Cool 944S transplant to 924S

As a "what if" question...would a 16 valve engine fit into a 924S body? I assume it would. What other parts would be required? I expect the DME would need to be transplanted, but what about other wiring for the engine? Is the exhaust enough different to need to be changed?
I read the Excellence article about the 3.0 transplant. Expensive move, but maybe a 16 valve would be a bit more affordable.
Thanks guys.

It should work. But the 2.5L 16 valve engine is notoriuos for delivering not-much more power for way-more money.
