TIE ROD END PULLER - WHERE TO BUY?
I'm looking for the "elegant" solution for separating tie rod ends from the steering knuckle/spindle on a 951. After reviewing previous posts I have decided to pass on the "banging hammer" and "pickle fork" options.
The challenge has been to find a puller that combines the pickle fork with a threaded bolt to gently ease out the tie rod end. I checked several local discount auto parts stores with no luck. I even checked a specialty auto parts dealer, and he didn't have anything like it in the catalog.
Where can I find/order the tool? I saw one item at Pelican Parts that looked like a possibility, but I'm not sure if it is the correct size.

Use a pry bar (36" min.) to apply upward pressure on the steering/ tie rod assy....Then using a 'dead blow' hammer whack the outside of the hub assy where the tie rod is. Dont be bashful...it wont break. usually it takes me one shot. (dont miss)
That is how it is done
Your 90-110$ is better spent on a snap-on pry bar 50-80$ 36-50 something inches, and a couple dead blows...also not cheap. These other tools will get you more mileage in the long run.
good luck
