1) NY
2) $1200/year
3) No tickets
4) '89 951

I'm 17...but my mom is the primary driver on the car, thus the $1200/year insurance rates. I'm listed as the primary driver of a '86 Toyota Camry. Liability only for that car is I believe $2000/year. I never dared to ask how much insurance would be with me as the primary driver on the Porsche .

Dave,

It's too late, i already paid the ticket. I argued for a no point ticket on my last one and just didn't want the aggrivation of court.

I'm in living in Belleville right now, right around the corner from you. Any chance you can recommend a good private mechanic in the area to do my timing belt? It's be much appriciated.

Craig check it out,

1.) CA
2.) 6 Months $540
3.) No tickets (on record) in last 5 years
4.) 84 944

Hey man check it out. The big thing that is saving me $$$ is that I drive a old NA car. The turbo would be almost twice as much. Also I am 27 and I got a GEICO discount because I an active duty military dude. I ran a red a few years ago in Orange County but paid a huge fine and went to one of those cheesy CA driving shcools so that kept it off my record. All I can say is be safe man and that will keep you're costs down. I've been with GEICO for about three years now and they keep dropping the prices on me but I think its a military thing.

stupenal,
Hey man I was in so Cal also, (Camp Pen). All I can tell you is dont get lured in with the "low" prices of the insurance brokers. I went through SOLO and they brokered me to some cheesy insurance company. So cheesy that I was doubtful they would pay up if i wrecked. You get what you pay for. After I just re-read your question I now realize I havn't helped you at all...sorry. I guess I was just excited to write someone from Cali. Good luck man. Later.

Should I worry??
(do you all apear to be living on the wrong side of this planet??)

'86 951
so car is older than 15 jears, used as fun car only, max 6250 miles/year, liability only: US$ 55,== PER YEAR
75% discount for more than 15 years no claim still to be deducted.
No points (yet)in this country for traffic violations, so no add to insurance cost either.

Road tax is different, weight depending, app US$ 400,== per year.
This is Netherlands,The Continet, my friends,
where fuel is about $5,00 per gallon though and hourly rates for mechanics is nearing US$ 50,== per hour.
Speed limit is 75 miles/hr, speeding for more than 18 miles will cause direct loss of license plus a fee you can replace the belts plus water pump from at the dealer.
