Cool Shifting Conversions

Hey I just read some stuff on those swift shifts and all. Would that make my shifter slide into gear better? I look kinda goofy sometimes PUSHING mine into the gear (i do disengage the clutch all the way yes). Do these make it more "smoooooooth"??? How much?

No, at least they shouldn't. You have something wrong with your car. This is what you need to do:

1. Change your transmission fluid.

2. Buy a new shift lever. By this I mean the metal piece that your leather/wood shifter **** attackes to. When you do this make sure to replace the ball-cup bushing that it sits in. These will probably be dealer items.

3. Have a porsche shop take a look at your linkage. By this I mean the linkage that is bolted onto the top of your transmission. I really don't think you want to mess with it yourself.

Sorry. If all of the above doesn't work, it may be because your clutch has started to self dectruct and their are pieces of it getting trapped between the flywheel/pressure plate and the friction disc.

This can happen with rubber centered and spring centered clutches, though it is more common on the rubber veriatey.

Also, you may need new synchros. They are expensive since you have to have the transmission removed and disasembled to replace them.

The clutch thing sounds right because my disc is worn, (wearing out) and we're getting a new one, the kind that isn't rubber.
