Post hatch: another redundant question

ok well, my hatch just wont lock at all, it did before but now it wont, the clasp things in the hole where the 2 rods go in to dont ever clasp, or come out, if i turn the key i see the mechanism kinda move but i dont see the clasps move at all. i wd40'ed the clasps in those 2 holes but that doesnt help.

can someone show me a picture of their rear locking mechanism, because i dont really even get how it works, when i turn the key it only moves so little, and only pushes the metal rods a tiny bit. hmm?

I'm not sure if it is typical or not, but when living in the northeast, I didn't have a garage, and the cold temperatures wreaked havoc on my hatch. It wasn't uncommon for one side to come unlatched while driving. Come spring, the problem went away. Now it's a summer car, so I don't worry too much about it.

weird, after messing with the hatch release button, holding it down, letting it swirl the motor around and around one of the teeth clenched out of the lock, and then after some more wd40 and more motor action they all came loose and now it locks again, hurray!
