Post LAME (Common) Heater Problem, Help?

ok well, you guessed it, its always blowing hot air, but this just started today, and I really can honestly say that I dont know what I am doing at all but that I did check for that broken clip thing under the dashboard and It doesnt even look broken but I wouldnt even know. So here are some pictures, and.. well.. if anyone can tell me what silly thing I dont see or did to cause this, then that would be great!

oh and if my clip looks okay and its really some vacuum hose or something, then try not to scare me because I dont know what a vacuum hose is

oh yea.. by the way, i also see this disconnected red capped wire down on the side of the drivers footwell popping out a bit and it says RR on the red cap of it, looks like it goes somewhere, but where, is that it? hmm..

What you can do is run the car, fiddle with the heater controls, and look under the dash for movement of levers. You should also hear air escaping and or venting when you change from hot to cold, defrost to vents, etc.

The vac inlet for the system runs into the firewall with the AC lines. One VAC line is the inlet from the vac canister by the battery, and the other the outlet to the heater valve. I'm not sure how to determine what one is in or out, but if you find a good schematic, let me know. I have no hoses back there from the fire.

the clip looks good (at the end of the silver arm and small rod)...have you tried bleeding the system ? Unlikely but possible.

(hows your back?)

well i hope that problem doesnt return

andy: the car is good so far except for those 2 little things which either fixed themselves or i managed to fix (heater, hatch). in traffic its annoying, but isnt every manual transmission? this car can be driven in the high rpms for performance/fun and low rpms for gas economy/sensibility so i think its the best of both worlds really. the handling is great, and its not making any strange sounds yet so , for now, i am a happy camper find anything worthy yet?

Haven't found anything yet. Thought I found something, but just got photos that show a dent on the hood/front right near the crest, and a scuff on the fender--making a "good deal" not that good. Frustrating!

Good luck with yours!

And remember--EASY on the clutch! No sudden jerky movements--fluid motions. Got it!?
