Post Oil Leak at Garrett Turbo Drain

Well it's been about 9 months since I installed my Huntley Racing Stage II Garrett Hybrid turbo. While under my car removing my broken tap (see other post), I noticed that I'm developing a small oil leak from the gasket under the turbo, where the oil drains. As I recall, the two Allen head bolts were a real pain to take out and install. I'm thinking that I probably need to revisit the area by trying to retorque those painful to reach and engage bolts. Anyone else been there before ? Any tips are greatly appreciated as always.

David, when installing a turbo recently, which has a Garrett center section and compressor, I noticed that the bottom drain, which you mention, barely covers the original "O" ring. There is no gasketfor my for my application though, the factory part # for the "O" ring that fits the groove in the "pedestal" is 900 174 058 40, the one that seals the supply line in a similar groove is # 999 707 043 40 and ironicly is the same as the one which fits the adapter during the oil filter housing (cooler) seal replacement job.
I have a wide selection of tools, but what i find works best for these bolts is: buy a cheap 6mm allen wrench, cut a piece off long enough to portrude 10mm when fully inserted into a 1/4 inch drive, 6mm socket (6 point)...
Use 1/4 inch swivel, and extension, with steering "u joint" in correct position, and heat shield removed works the best for me..

Take care

Terry
