By the way... if your significant other is concerned about the practicality of owning a 944, here's a brief clip showing it to be "a perfectly reasonable family car"

Great add, great car, I feel the S2 is a very rare and special car, so much I just purchased a 1991 white S2 from the Sacramento area to compliment my Black 944S daily driver. love these naturally aspirated 16 valve water coolers. Best of luck with your sale, you were very forth coming with your add, which is refreshing and reassuring to any potential buyer. Best Regards John N.

Now let's see how fast our reasonable family car goes around the track :-)

Karl: Nicely written. Seriously, well done. If I didn't already own a '91 944 S2, I'd be flying to San Jose to buy yours. If your D90 wheels are still for sale, please let me know. Thanks! Greg

Very nice car and as many other's have noted, very nice description. I am just taking some photo's of my car to sell, and was working on a format very similar to yours. However yours is better then what mine was going to be. You set the bar very high, hope you don't mind if follow your format for my 944 S3. From reading your post, it seems we are very similar. We love our cars, (and don't really want to sell) and hope it will go to a good owner that will enjoy and care for it as good as we have.

Hi folks,
The car is sold. It was purchased by a local PCA member with extensive track experience. A very nice guy as well, and I wish him the best of luck. Here it is on its way to a new home...
I've very little experience selling a car privately, so I thought I'd share some of my "data" in case anyone was curious...
I first advertised the car for sale the prior weekend (Saturday May 25th) on the following sites:
On Monday the 28th, I was very fortunate when the ad was featured on Bring-A-Trailer (BaT), a site I was unfamilar with. It brought a lot of additional exposure, especially at the national level.
It took a few days for the first person to contact me. But then in short order I had roughly 18 people get in touch, 8 of them local to the SF Bay Area and the rest from all across the country. Of those people, I would say 4 seemed genuinely serious (3 of which were local).
Some observations about the 'typical' places to advertise...
The BaT article was the one that caught the eye of the new owner. We met Sunday (June 2nd) at the annual Porsche Swap Meet held at Parts Heaven. He took the car away this evening.
So all in all I had a very positive experience and I hope the new owner enjoys the car to its fullest.

Some observations about the 'typical' places to advertise...
- Auto Trader
- Their tools are clumsy & restrictive in terms of content, size and format.
- It took 48 hrs from when I paid for the ad, and it actually appearing on their site
- Only 1 of the 18 people came to me through Auto Trader
- Craigs List
- Much better than I expected
- I was expecting spam, time wasters, etc.
- But none of that happened.
- Instead that ad generated the most local contacts, some of which seemed quite serious.
- I did have a few kids ask quesions about the car (e.g. differences between the '91 S2 bridge spoiler and the 968 bridge spoiler), which I was more than happy to answer

Three Wheelin'
These hard metrics are extremely valuable to the community and Internet at large, and are very rare in classified sections. I'm curious as to what kind of engineer you are professionally...
I hope you purchase an E30 M3 or impact-bumper 911 so that I may continue to benefit from your input into relevant online communities...
